Chronology of cameras Girard
Traduction de Daniel C:
It is funny to discover that this big box was, at the time, described as follows in the advertisements : “Very small Camera, a true jewel, weighting 1,500g as a maximum” . Without the plates is not indicated.
On this detective camera, the motion of the plates is obtained by turning a side crank. The shutter cocking is made on front, by means of a selector marked “PP, P and I” (PP may be for “Pose prolongée”(long time exposure), with a setting of the tension graduated from 1 to 7 for choosing the snapshot time exposure.
The lens is a Roussel « Anti-spectroscopique ». The minimum focal distance is one meter.
The camera is fitted with two threaded holes (Congres standard) to fit on a support. Two spirit levels and a small key to lock the plate magazine are also offered
Obviously a high class camera.
At the time, its cost was 135 francs. As a difference with the model dated 1902, the optical finders are not showing any targeting cross.
